this is a more than great start. But do not use this book for ...

Its ok. If you want a short concise intro to multi-variable analysis and you are not in charge of any serious study, go for it. If you are a clinician, only beginning to understand the field of statistics (and want to get an idea of what you are reading in science papers), this is more than a great start. But do not use this book for any deeper topic. I found some of the information (on handling missing data) a bit "off". I had to compare to other, more exhaustive statistical books - the guidance there was different. They warned against some recommendations provided in this book. I know this is a work in progress and it saved many from being completely frustrated with methods seemingly so complex. I enjoyed starting here. But ... it turned out I needed to move on, eventually. :)
